In the Fall of 2022 three Mirai team members joined up with a team of researchers to climb and collect cones from Giant Sequoia trees to help research and reforest these beautiful groves.

With the Bonsai Mirai team, I went to Crater Lake National park and captured the natural landscape through the lens of bonsai. In addition, Mirai put out limited edition prints from that trip to fundraise for the White Bark Pine Foundation, that focuses on eliminating blister rust that is posing to be a major threat for extinction on this species of trees.

In the world of bonsai, trees can take decades before their full stylistic potential is reached. I was hired to document moments of refinement in specific trees. As an ongoing project, I work with trees that are typically 75-500 years old, capturing the change in development and seasonality throughout their years.

In the summer of 2015 I was able to work with a team of two video producers to film and edit four episodes of Jazz Night in America. We traveled to cities known for jazz: Chicago, Baltimore, New York, and D.C. I both filmed and edited on each of these episodes, and it was one of the most fulfilling doc-u-series I’ve ever worked on.
